Mam Tor Fine Art Print
Mam Tor Fine Art Print
This image explores one of the most recognisable hills in the Peak District, Mam Tor, and its place in the landscape. With rich and many shades of green and patterns, it features the view behind with a patchwork landscape and stylised trees. The hill itself has the most beautiful views across the peaks and is known as Mother Hill, there is a deep history and myth that surrounds this mound and this is explored further in the words of the poem running through the print.
It is taken from an original artwork featuring collaged paper with paint, stylised trees collaged using textured and vintage papers, drawn into, ink and bleach hand painted with a range of patterns and words running through the design which are written by Michael Lott.
‘Mother Hill, you have borne the winds that batter you,
The boots that tread upon your face,
The picks that cracked the caverns, stealing jewels beneath this place.
Benevolent, in hardened beauty,
You watch it all with grace.’
The prints are printed on to archival paper using pigmented, light fast inks and are signed by the artist. The prints are mounted in iced white mounts and hand packaged into biodegradable cellophane sleeves. These are printed to last a lifetime.
