My name is Angela and I’m the artist behind Mary's House Designs. I create sweet and colourful illustrated designs with inspiration drawn from nature, memories and daydreaming. Across the collections of cards, prints and homewares you will see repeated natural elements, the written word and imaginative, playful elements too. I work from my home studio in Sheffield, close to the green parks in the city and the rolling hills of the Peak district.

I create all of my illustrations using traditional drawing, paint and print media, you can see the pen and paint marks if you look closely! As a print-maker, I am a natural mark-maker and I use a black pen to draw, ink and watercolour to paint, and combine these with collage to create the work; each design begins its life as an individual hand drawn and painted artwork which can then be applied across products including art prints for the home, stationery and homeware. In the work I express my love of nature, imagination, pattern and colour when I create each piece.
